Jane has enjoyed designing for children as there is something special about knitting for a loved one.

The achievements of the project have exceeded expectations with the boarding centre officially opened in March 2008. Alex, Mirasol’s brother, wrote a poem to commemorate the official opening of the school.

As we come from Muñani and look this way,
We see the Mirasol School
Arising by the Mallkini River
Surrounded by big trees

Hipi Hurrah, the morning sun
That shines like our Mirasol School
Where we study happily and live safely
Together with teachers and many children
